Kimberly Boynton

Kimberly Boynton is a Bay Area native who is passionate about mentorship and knowledge sharing. Kim earned her BS in Physiology and a minor in Chemistry from San Jose State University and her MS in Biomedical Science from Barry University. She draws upon her scientific expertise in her current role as an Associate Director, Clinical Trial Managment, ARMO Biosciences. She has been a leader in the field of clinical research for 11 years, over which she has planned numerous Investigator Meetings, both virtual and in person. Her unique experiences of working at the site, the CRO, and the Sponsor level allow her to take many perspectives into consideration when planning trials and events. She has run trials globally, which has given her the opportunity to engage Investigators with many different customs, backgrounds, and priorities. She draws upon her formal training as a biologist and her various mentorship and teaching engagements over the course of her career to propel others forward. Kim hopes to share lessons learned in order to maximize time at Investigator Meetings and choose the right platform on which to present.

Heidi Cocca
Meeting Manager, MERCK

Heidi Cocca has been at Merck for more than 10 years, working on various aspects of the clinical trial process, including training investigative sites. In 2008, she joined the newly formed meeting management department with a goal to develop, implement and sustain a new meeting model that produces compliant, cost-effective and high-quality investigator meetings. Prior to joining Merck, Heidi worked in software development, and now brings that zeal for technology to her current meetings, through digital and hybrid meetings, and stays on top of the latest trends such as meeting applications and gamification.

Heidi received her undergraduate degree from Lynchburg College and now lives in Connecticut with her husband and two boys.

Christina Gilbert

Christina Gilbert is Global Head of Operations at Small Planet Group and has nearly 20 years’ industry experience. She started her career working in not for profit and has held meeting planning positions in the finance and healthcare sectors delivering a wide variety of events. Her experience over the past 10 years has been in the healthcare sector. She has experience of working with clients to deliver and implement SMMPs, outsourced dedicated teams and providing overall program consultancy from process improvements, cost savings to meeting technology.

As part of her current role at Small Planet, she leads the specialist investigator meeting planning team, focusing on the latest industry event trends and working with clients to deliver high-quality F2F and virtual meetings throughout the clinical pathway.

Christina received her undergraduate degree from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) part of the University of London and lives just outside of London in the UK.

Mozelle Goodwin, CMP, HMCC

A global strategic meeting professional, Mozelle’s experience spans more than 20 years in the medical education programming arena as well as programming in higher education, publishing, and technology. Her career started at Sterling Drug where she was introduced to the world of meeting planning. She later acquired a position at a third-party medical education agency, where she held positions in operations and account management during her 13-year tenure before deciding to venture out as an Independent Planner. Having a passion for medical programming, Mozelle is currently in her third year with Eisai Inc. as a Pharmaceutical Meeting Planner.

A member of Meeting Professionals International (MPI) since 1997, she earned her CMP in 1998 and served as President of the WestField Chapter from 2013–2014. Other certifications include Sports, Entertainment and Event Marketing (New York University School of Continuing and Professional Studies) and Healthcare Meetings Compliance (MPI and St. Louis University). Mozelle holds a BSBA in general business from Bowling Green State University (Ohio).

Kimberly Guedes

Over 25 years of academic, clinical and pharmaceutical research experience. My experience ranges from serving as a neurosurgical/neurology nurse at Yale’s School for Medicine to Senior Director of Clinical Operations in PhRMA and CRO environments. My therapeutic area of expertise is CNS (including Neurology, Psychology, and Pain). I have over 20 years of Project Management and Clinical Operations experience in Phase I-IV clinical trials, from IND through NDA. Strong scientific and operational background developed through line and managerial positions. Strong people management by way of training, fostering growth and championing success in multiple global reports. I have extensive experience in designing and delivering training programs worldwide and making presentations to small and large groups.

She is now working to connect ClinOps Leaders to the Seeker Health technology—which allows pharma and biotech teams to connect to patients via compliant and secure Social Media & Digital Media campaigns. Seeker Health specializes in accelerating recruitment for oncology and rare disease clinical trials. Heather has led successful in-person as well as remote Investigator Meetings and is excited to share out learnings and tools with ClinOps leaders.

During her career, Jean has worked on trials in the United States (US), Japan, China, Europe and South America. Her extensive experience includes the Clinical Research Organization (CRO) and Pharmaceutical side of research as well as the Regulatory Affairs side including Investigational New Drug (IND) Submissions and meetings with Federal Drug Administration (FDA).

Ryan served in the military as a Sergeant in the Army and was deployed to Baghdad, Iraq where he received awards and accommodations for service. Ryan holds a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice from Grantham University, with a focus in Homeland Security.
