Dr. Joanne Chia, Pharm.D., currently resides in Atlanta, GA and works for Sanofi Genzyme as Director, Medical Managed Care where she has been for the past 3 years. In this role, Dr. Chia is responsible for payer, PBM and specialty pharmacy accounts in the Southeast region (GA, AL, MS, LA, and PR). Jesse Fishman currently leads the U.S. medical affairs organization Scientific & Real World Data Alliances Department at UCB by providing strategic development and oversight of scientific and database partnerships in their neurology patient value unit (NPVU). Our division of the NPVU seeks to communicate about the clinical and economic solutions that will serve patients with severe disease.
Jesse has 10 years of industry experience working in various roles in clinical development and medical affairs. Thomas Graf, MD, FAAFP is Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Horizon Blue Cross. In his final position there, Dr. Graf was the Chief Medical Officer for Population Health and Longitudinal Care Service Lines. There, he was responsible for the value re-engineering of the care continuum and other population health initiatives for Geisinger including the ACO portfolio, the Physician Group Practice, and PGP Transitions Demonstrations and Bundled Payments for Care Improvement. Operationally he had responsibility for the community practice, internal medicine, medical specialties, pediatrics, psychiatry, oncology, neurosciences, women’s health, and care continuum service lines across 22 counties in central and northeast Pennsylvania.
After graduating from University of Michigan Medical School and completing family medicine residency training at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Dr. Graf served on the faculty of the Henry Ford Family Practice Residency and was Director of the Southwest Georgia Family Practice Residency.
Dr. Hunt graduated from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences, Des Moines, Iowa and completed his residency in Pediatrics. During his military service, Dr. Hunt’s held key leadership positions. As Chief Medical Information Officer, he has implemented ‘Epic’ and ‘Cerner’ EMRs. He is Board Certified and received a Master of Science in Medical Informatics.
In April 2013, Dr. Hunt was appointed CPHO (Chief Population Health Officer [CMO/CMIO]) for St. Vincent’s Health Partners, Inc., a Physician Hospital Organization with more than 400 providers, and St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Dr. Hunt provides physician leadership and direction for the planning, design, and implementation of clinical information systems at St. Vincent’s Health Partners, Inc. and oversees quality and utilization for its provider network. Under the leadership of Dr. Hunt, St. Vincent’s Health Partners, Inc. was the first organization in the country to become accredited by URAC as a Clinically Integrated Network and is leading the charge in changing the face of healthcare in CT. Currently, working with organizational leaders, Dr. Hunt is engaged to develop information system infrastructure to support a super clinically integrated network. As interim Chief Executive Officer (2016), he is now focused to develop additional opportunities for medical management with employers.
Dr. Hunt joined St. Vincent’s Health System (SVHS) as CMIO in August 2014. He is working closely with clinical and information technology associates to transition to ongoing operations after the Cerner EMR implementation. Additionally, Dr. Hunt participates with the Valued Care Alliance (a newly formed seven hospital consortium in Connecticut in which St. Vincent’s Medical Center is a founding member) to establish system-wide population management infrastructure. SVHS was the first hospital to attest to stage two Meaningful use in Connecticut and is now optimizing through uplift the Cerner EMR.
Dr. Shaparak Kamarei currently serves as the Medical Director of Clinical Operations at OptumCare Medical Group (OCMG) in Southern California. OCMG is a physician-led organization comprised of 21 medical offices and over 100 primary care physicians, specialists and advanced care professionals delivering care to 100,000 patients annually. Dr. Kamarei oversees the clinical site lead physicians and their providers and leads the development, implementation, and oversight of clinical programs that empower providers to deliver the highest quality of care. Daniel McCabe, M.D. is the CEO of Arizona Connected Care (AZCC). He was with the organization since its formative stages in 2010 and 2011. AZCC now has one hospital and 380 physicians and growing. Was Board Chairman of Finance since it first started risk contracting in 2012. Is responsible for three Commercial and two Medicare contracts (27,000 lives) and is negotiating at the present time for 3 new contracts. Yearend distributions to PCP’s for 4 consecutive years. John O’Shea is currently a practicing surgeon and Senior Fellow in the Center for Health Policy Studies at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, DC. Prior to taking his current position, he was a Visiting Scholar in Health Policy at the Brookings Institution. From 2011 to 2013, he served as a senior health policy advisor to the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce, where he helped draft the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA). He has a master’s in public administration from the Harvard Kennedy School and a master’s in history and sociology of science from the University of Pennsylvania.
Matt is currently the Vice President of Managed Markets for Sunovion Pharmaceuticals Inc. Matt is responsible for leading the Account Management, Trade, Contracting and MM Marketing Teams at Sunovion.

Stephanie Roberts started her career in fitness and wellness programming, later moving into the managed care world, focusing on health education and disease management. After about ten years of trying to convince people to eat right and exercise, Stephanie gave up and moved to the dark side, transitioning to the pharmaceutical industry. In her 18 years in the bio-pharmaceutical industry, Stephanie has been involved in primary care and oncology sales and sales management, hospital contracting and training, finally finding her sweet spot in the market access environment. Stephanie prides herself in a deep understanding of the healthcare industry and her ability to understand both the big picture and the inner complexities. Currently with Acorda Therapeutics, Stephanie finds that focusing on her customers’ “Why’s” and reminding them of their commitment to patients helps her to be relevant, ultimately allowing her to bring value and be successful.
As UCare’s Vice President of Provider Relations and Contracting, Michael Ruiz leads complex negotiations with providers and develops innovative Medicare and commercial value-based contracting arrangements. He also manages teams and processes to support improved operations and performance at UCare.
Ruiz was most recently Vice President, Medicare Market Performance at UnitedHealthcare in Minnetonka, Minn. His responsibilities included overseeing value-based contracting analysis for incentive programs, addressing gaps in Medicare Star Ratings and improving medical cost performance for health plan members.
He previously held positions as Senior Director, Accountable Care Strategy at UnitedHealthcare; Senior Provider Contract Manager with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota in Eagan, Minn.; Project Manager with Medical Management, Inc., of Portland, Ore.; and Hospital Director with Banfield Pet Hospitals in the Twin Cities area.
Ruiz earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota. He is a member of the Health Care Financial Management Association. Ruiz and his family live in St. Paul, Minn., where he coaches the Mendota Heights Athletic Association Football, Highland Hoops Basketball League, and Hi-Mac Baseball League, and is president of the Friends of the Oxford Pool.
John Sears is currently a Director of Health Care Quality Strategy with Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems. In his current role, John develops internal commercial strategies that support pipeline, inline and above-brand workstreams by bridging any gaps between Janssen’s capabilities and the evolving US healthcare system. John has previous experience with global marketing, sales operations, medical affairs and business consulting working across the majority of therapeutic areas within Janssen.
Dr. Mohini Sinha currently serves as the Medical Director for Performance Improvement and Risk Adjustment at Monarch HealthCare, Irvine, California that collectively serves approximately 265,600 beneficiaries comprised of Medicare, Commercial, Medi-Cal and Dual Eligible coverage. In her role at Monarch, she oversees HEDIS and CMS Stars and Risk Adjustment efforts for all lines of business as well as Peer Review and Credentialing. She previously served as Medical Director at CHOC Health Alliance. Dr. Sinha received her M.D. degree from Patna Medical College, India and completed her Residency training at the State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn, NY. Rebecca Snakowski is a quality improvement professional with 17 years of expertise in quality performance programs [California IHA Pay-for-Performance (VBP4P), CMS Medicare Advantage Star Ratings and Pioneer/Next Generation ACO Quality Reporting (GPRO)]. As Executive Director of Performance Improvement at Monarch HealthCare (a physician medical group in Orange County, CA), she is responsible for designing and implementing a company-wide program that improves clinical quality, care experience and affordability of care – optimizing performance-based revenue from quality incentive programs. Prior to working at Monarch HealthCare, she was the Manager of Quality Improvement at Arta Health Network (now part of DaVita Medical Group). Rebecca holds a BA in English from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Mr. Vespa is a certified public accountant and attorney with experience in the areas of real estate, manufacturing, banking, corporate finance, healthcare and tax. He received his B.A. from Hillsdale College and his J.D. from the University of Detroit School of Law.
Mr. Vespa serves as the Executive Director of Southeast Michigan Accountable Care (SEMAC) since its inception. His efforts were instrumental in the initial formation of SEMAC and its initiatives with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid.
